Families and Kids

I want you to leave your session with me saying- "wow that was more fun than I expected!" :-) Most of all, I want to to feel comfortable, relaxed and actually enjoy yourself. Especially when it comes to the little ones, I like to capture kids just being kids, in an unstructured organic sort of way, no pressure!

Before your photo session, we will have a consultation to discuss where you would like to have your pictures taken, a look or style you are going for, and what you should wear. As you probably have noticed by now, I am a fan of color! For a family shoot, outfits are better just somewhat coordinated and not too matchy matchy! For little boys, jeans are great with a bright colored shirt, something you feel captures his true personality..for girls, the more colorful and fun the better, like a cute dress with patterned leggings. Feel free to bring a change of clothes (even if it's just a different shirt) for them so we can capture various looks during our session. Please no large logos, , to insure a classic look in your portraits for years to come. See my blog entry on what to wear for examples!

Newborns

Your newborn session takes place within the first two weeks after birth, and is done in and around the comfort of your own home.

These sessions can take up to three hours, with breaks to feed, change and soothe your little one. I supply various backdrops and props, while incorporating your own.
