I knew when I received Dee’s client questionnaire filled out this would be such a fun session. She was getting ready to graduate from UCSB as a psychology major and wanted photos that would capture and preserve memories of her life in Santa Barbara for the last four years. We started in Isla Vista and moved onto campus, finishing at the beautiful beach and lagoon around UCSB, where her boyfriend and pooch joined us. It was a perfect sunny afternoon for a senior photo session and Dee just glowed! <3

{Santa Barbara Fair} The Lensbaby Project April
For The Lensbaby Project this month I wanted to highlight something that is a Spring tradition in our family- going to the Santa Barbara Fair and Expo, which comes to town every April. I have been shooting at the Fair ever since I picked up my camera, but this month decided to take only my Lensbaby Composer Pro, Double Glass Optic and Edge 80 Optic. It was tricky trying to capture all the action (it was SUPER crowded) but made for some “happy mistakes”.

We have two fabulous blog circles this month, so next take a peek at what Monika Strzelecka is sharing!
-
That swing shot is my favorite! We didn’t make it to our local festival this year. So bummed about that. Oh well, there’s next year! The Lensbaby sure does make those rides look even funner!
-
LOVE that B&W in the second row, and the rainbowy flare. The carnival would be a fun place to shoot LB!
-
Love the shots! The fair is always such fun. The center swinging carousel is stunning
-
Love the shots of the swings! Great job! I can’t wait to take it to the OC Fair this summer.

{Family Reunion Photo Session} Meet in the Middle
I knew this extended family photo session at Cachuma Lake would be a blast and I wasn’t wrong! The weather was absolutely perfect, their outfits to die for, and the setting of the cute cabins at the lake made for a perfect afternoon. Santa Barbara is the “middle” for the “R” family to meet, and I am so grateful they asked me to come up and photograph their fun reunion.

{Lifestyle Vacation Photo Session} California Streamin’
When one of my favorite little families contacted me asking if I would be willing to do a photo session while they were vacationing in Santa Barbara at the Santa Barbara Auto Camp, I was so excited! It felt like just yesterday I photographed their sweet elopement session, and I was really looking forward to seeing how much cute “L” had grown and changed. The door flew open on the vintage Airstream as soon as I got there, with a big “Hi Jen!” and a dimpled smile :-)
The Airsteams are just BEAUTIFUL, complete with bicycles and your own little “yard” for hanging out and soaking up the California sun- even though we had a bit of rain in the morning, it turned out to be a gorgeous Easter evening, perfect for their photos. Thank you “C” family for another fun session!
